Drug warrant in Sturgeon Falls nets five arrests

Sturgeon Falls – On March 2nd 2011, members of the O.P.P. Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit and the West Nipissing Police Service executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a Sturgeon Falls residence.

As a result of the investigation, officers seized Cannabis marihuana with a potential street value of over $1500.00, as well as $400.00 cash and offence related property.

Five persons were arrested and charged. They were released via Promise to Appear with Officer in Charge Undertakings:


1. Ryan BROULT, age 19 yrs, of Monetville.

• Possession of a Controlled Substance to wit: Cannabis marihuana, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

2. Eric BUREAU, age 21 yrs, of Sturgeon Falls.

• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking to wit: Cannabis marihuana, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

3. Josee CARON, age 21 yrs, of North Bay.

• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking to wit: Cannabis marihuana, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

4. Eric DOUVILLE, age 29yrs, of Sturgeon Falls.

• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking to wit: Cannabis marihuana, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

5. Sylvie DURETTE, age 39yrs, of Sturgeon Falls.

• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking to wit: Cannabis marihuana, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
