MVC closes Hwy 17 west of Markstay Update

WARREN – Yesterday Highway 17, just west of Markstay, was closed due to a motor vehicle collision involving two motor vehicles. Six people were transported by ambulance to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Highway 17 was closed to both east and west bound traffic for approximately three hours while Fire, Ambulance and Police attended to the scene.

The Ontario Provincial Police are continuing with their investigation and want to remind drivers to slow down and drive with care.

Sudbury OPP advise motorists that as of 2:42 pm Highway 17, 1 km West of Markstay is closed due to a three vehicle collision.

A detour has been set up at Highways 535, 537 and 64.

The estimated duration of road closure is unknown at this time.
