One person taken to hospital after snowmachine collision

Lake Nipissing – Officers with the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police and North Bay Police Service responded to a snow machine collision which occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2011 on Lake Nipissing.

A single snow machine struck a rock in the area of Tree Pine / Gull Islands resulting in serious injuries. Air ambulance attended and airlifted the male driver, Ryan HALLIDAY, 21 years old of Wallaceburg, Ontario, to the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Nipissing Township Fire Department and North Bay Ambulance Service also attended the scene. Investigation is ongoing.
