Sam, Willie and Phil say it's an early spring

Just a short time ago Wiarton Willie and Shubenacadie Sam had their own look outside and agree with Pennsylvania's Punxsutawney Phil's prediction that we can expect an early Spring.

Both furry fellas Willie and Sam failed to see their shadows this morning on Groundhog Day.

Balzac Billy in Alberta will add his prediction later today.

In the news release below from the Borough of Punxsutawney not only did Phil predrict an early spring he also offered his prediction for the upcoming Super Bowl.

Punxsutawney Phil was raised from his burrow by the call of President Bill Deeley.

He greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths.

After casting an inquisitive eye towards thousands of his faithful followers, he proclaimed that the Steelers are going to the Super Bowl!

Back to the business at hand.

He surveyed his surroundings carefully and found that there was no shadow around.

So, an early spring it will be.
