Vrebosch acclaimed to ROMA board

Mayor Bill Vrebosch has been acclaimed to the Rural Ontario Municipal Association Board of Directors for Zone 9.

ROMA is an affiliate of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. Mayor Vrebosch will sit on the AMO Board of Directors.

As the Zone 9 representative, Mr. Vrebosch will represent Northern Ontario from Gravenhurst to Moosonee to the Manitoba border.

“As you can see, the North needs strong representation on these Provincial Boards. The other 8 zones are in the South. I will be working with both FONOM, which represents Northeastern Ontario, and NOMA which represents Northwestern Ontario. Trying to strengthen the Northern voice.”

“Due to family commitments, I was unable to take part in the upcoming provincial election, but, this appointment will keep me involved in trying to direct provincial policies and to bring the Northern perspective to the meetings. There are approximately 9 meetings per year in Toronto and I can handle that easily. I’ve been the Zone 9 rep since 1999. I know the job and I know I can continue in this capacity.”

Mayor Vrebosch will also contest the chairman’s position at the ROMA/OGRA convention at the end of February.
