East Ferris without Bell telephone service Update

911 Service Restored as of 10:30 pm Sunday

Bell Canada reports it is experiencing technical difficulty with telephone lines in the Municipality of East Ferris and surrounding area. Approximately 1700 households are affected and without telephone service due to a power outage. These homes and businesses have no access to 911 emergency services. The O.P.P. have activated there emergency back up service.

Residents affected by this outage may still call 911 from a cellular phone as cell service is not affected by the outage. They may also attend the Municipality of East Ferris Fire Hall at 390 Hwy # 94 where fire and police personnel are stationed and will respond to emergencies.

Bell Canada is working to correct the problem.
