Escape the cold Northern Ontario winter for the forests of sunny California in an evening with Nipissing University professor Dr. Jeff Dech, who is presenting at the Algonquin Section of the Canadian Institute of Forestry (CIF/IFC)’s annual International Night on Friday, January 28, at McCoy’s Restaurant (170 Peninsula Road).**

For more than five decades the CIF/IFC has hosted the annual International Night, which includes a presentation on forests or forestry as well as dinner complementing the presentation.

This year’s International Night features a presentation by Dech, titled In search of the Largest and Oldest Living Things on Earth: the Forests of the Sierra Nevada and White Mountains of California. A California style buffet dinner will be served.

Dech is an assistant professor of biology and the forest bioproducts research Chair at Nipissing, as well as a councilor for the Algonquin Section of the CIF/IFC.
