Off road officers issue 27 charges first two weeks of January

The North Bay Police Service and Ontario Provincial Police officers have been busy in the first two weeks of January with issuing a variety of provincial offences.

The two officers representing each police service patrol area waterways and trails in an effort to increase safety awareness, compliance to different acts as well as education.

Police have encountered an increased number of All-terrain vehicles and side by side riders not wearing their helmets when out on the lake. This is a safety concern as well as a violation of the ORVA. Other charges included anglers having more than two lines each; failure to have proper documentation such as a driver’s licence, insurance, ownership and fishing licence.
