Nipissing‐Timiskaming MP Anthony Rota and his staff will be teaming up with the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce to offer a special passport information clinic at Northgate Shopping Centre from noon until 4:00 PM on Wednesday, January 19th, 2011.

The purpose of this clinic will be to assist constituents in completing their passport applications, and answer any questions they may have about the application process.

“We have hosted similar passport clinics in the past and they have always been a huge success,” says Mr. Rota. “By assisting people with their passport applications, we are also able to provide them with peace of mind as they prepare for upcoming vacations and business travel.”

According to President John Strang of the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce, these passport clinics also help debunk the application process. “Whether you are applying for a passport for the first time, looking to renew an existing one, or completing a special passport form for children or dependents, this clinic is designed to help explain and simplify the process.”

Mr. Rota estimates that his two constituency offices receive and help process over 5,000 passport applications a year, and says that his staff is well trained to assist in reviewing and submitting completed forms to Passport Canada.

“It can take several weeks for passport applications to be approved by Passport Canada, so I always encourage people to submit their paperwork well in advance of any trip that they may be planning so that they receive their new passports in time,” says Mr. Rota.

The passport clinic will be set up in Sears’ Court at Northgate Shopping Centre, located at 1500 Fisher Street in North Bay. For further information, people can contact Anthony Rota’s North Bay constituency office at (705) 474‐3700 or the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce at
