All way stop approved for Jane Street

The city of North Bay approved the installation of an all way stop at the intersection of Jane, Nipissing, and Clarence Streets.

The city began looking into the matter after receiving numerous complaints by area residents, regarding traffic flow and pedestrian safety. Data collected showed an average of 238 vehicles traveling through the intersection per hour, which exceeds the number required to warrant a four way intersection.

There are also concerns that with the opening of the new hospital, more traffic will be flowing on Jane Street, thus warranting the extra stop signs.
