This is a warning that dangerous winter weather conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A winter storm centred over Southern Québec will continue to move northeast today.

Snow from this storm is beginning to taper off in these regions. General snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm have fallen since the beginning of the event. An additional 2 to 4 cm of snow is expected for this afternoon. Conditions are expected to improve this afternoon into this evening.

However, strong and gusty northerly winds will continue to whip up the freshly fallen snow resulting in blowing snow conditions in exposed areas. As well..These winds combined with the cold temperatures are resulting in wind chill values of minus 25 to minus 35.

Winter driving conditions are occuring in the warned regions motorists should adjust travel plans or postpone travel accordingly until this winter storm is over.

A winter storm centred near Montréal will continue to move northeast today.

Snow from this storm continues to be heavy at times over the southeastern regions. General snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm have fallen in these regions..With even higher total amounts possible before the snow ends late today. The snow has already begun to taper off over western warned regions and will continue to do so today as the storm centre moves further away over Québec.

In addition, strong and gusty northerly winds have whipped up the freshly fallen snow resulting in blowing snow and near blizzard conditions in exposed areas. As well..These winds combined with the cold temperatures will result in wind chill values of minus 25 to minus 35. However wind chill values of minus 40 are possible in the Timmins - Cochrane area early this morning.

Dangerous driving conditions from nil visibility and whiteout conditions in heavy snow and blowing snow are quite possible. Motorists should adjust travel plans or postpone travel accordingly until this winter storm is over.
