The Concerned Citizens Committee of North Bay and Area maintains that the specialized mental health beds/patients that the LHIN and the MHOLTC have autocratically decided to move to Sudbury should remain in North Bay. In response to the NE LHIN alleging that they conducted a well-advertised, open, and extensive public consultations with professionals, staff, families, and the public, the CCCNBA launched a post card campaign to raise awareness and educate the public.

This campaign has proven successful in increasing awareness as we continue to educate the public on the immediate and long-term effects of moving the seniors' specialized dementia care beds/patients from North Bay to Sudbury. On Monday, November 22, 2010, the two co-chairs of the CCCNBA delivered well over five thousand signed post cards to Queens Park on behalf of the concerned citizens of North Bay and Area.

A member of the Legislature accepted the post cards with assurances that the post cards would be distributed evenly amongst the opposition health critics and the opposition leaders, which, they in turn would deliver directly to the Minister of Health and Long Term Care. As these are individually signed post cards, and not a petition, the MHOLTC is obligated to respond to every post card they received.

While some may believe that the CCCNBA has exhausted all available options, we beg to disagree, and we will continue with our efforts to advocate on behalf of the patients, families, and health professionals and ensure that North Bay and Area have access to all levels of health care in this community.
