Nipissing First Nation will be holding a Remembrance Day Ceremony, Thursday November 11, to remember those who gave their lives for our country and to honour those currently serving in the Canadian Armed Forces.

The parade will start at 10:30am at the Community Centre in Garden Village and proceed to the Cenotaph at 11am for the ceremony.

Members of the Canadian Forces Base, local dignitaries will be on hand. Also, students from Our Lady of Sorrows School in Sturgeon Falls and Nbisiing Secondary School will be participating in the ceremony with hand drumming and by dressing in traditional Regalia.

A luncheon will follow at the Community Centre, and community members and local media are welcomed to attend.

Nipissing First Nation services more than 2,000 on and off-reserve citizens and is located between the Municipality of West Nipissing and the City of North Bay. Established before European settlement, Nipissing First Nation is a signatory of the Robinson-Huron Treaty, and a nation of the Union of Ontario Indians.
