Bank robbery suspect in custody

Cst. Bill Gainforth assisted by Cst. Paul Trahan have arrested a 22-year-old male for several offences arising out of a failed bank robbery attempt, at 19:31 hrs, 2010-11-08.

It is alleged a male took a cab to a bank on Main Street East in North Bay and attempted a robbery, wearing a disguise, displaying the handle of a pellet gun, and demanding cash. He fled the bank in the waiting cab, without any cash, abandoned the cab on Fisher Street without paying the fair of the cab, and was pursued by the cab driver on foot. The suspect then pointed the firearm at the cab driver who then gave up the foot chase.

The suspect then called the Police reporting that he had been robbed. This accused was arrested approximately 19:48 hrs.

Jordan Corbiere-Badgley aged 22 years of Aubrey Street North Bay is being held for a Bail Hearing this morning charged with Robbery Using a Firearm, Disguise with Intent, Weapons Dangerous, Fare Fraud, and Public Mischief.
