This November the Domestic Violence Committee of Nipissing is hosting a workshop for grade 11 students called ‘Expose the Truth’. Over 100 students from around the Districts of Nipissing and Parry Sound will be participating in a variety of informational workshops including, healthy relationships, effective communications, and the dangers of social networking. The students will then be asked to brainstorm and share ideas with one another on what they learned and how this information has impacted them.

The committee hopes to have students bring their ideas back to their own schools in order to create awareness campaigns featuring the ‘Expose the Truth’ message. The student campaigns will be featured at an awards dinner in March 2011.

The one-day workshop is being held on November 8, 2010 at the Best Western Hotel, Lakeshore Drive, North Bay.
