The North Bay Regional Health Centre is looking to recruit 200 new volunteers by hosting a Volunteer Recruitment Fair on Saturday, October 30th from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. This drop in recruitment fair will take place in the cafeteria at the new health care centre on Highway 17.

Attendees will have the opportunity to browse information booths and speak with staff and volunteers about the many volunteering options available at the new health centre. Some of the exciting new volunteer positions include Friendly Visitor, Gift Shop volunteer and Hospital Ambassador.

“We are very excited to roll out our Hospital Ambassador program. Volunteers interested in this will receive the necessary training to become an expert in all the services that the NBRHC has to offer,” explained Pat Stephens, Director of Public Relations at the North Bay General Hospital/North East Mental Health Centre.

The Hospital Ambassador program is part of a new pilot project for volunteers.
Hospital Ambassadors will welcome and guide visitors, patients, volunteers and
staff through the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

The new health centre is nearing completion and the count down to move day has already begun. This marks an exciting time for volunteer opportunities.

“For the first time in Ontario a mental health centre and a general hospital are amalgamating into one organization. This gives volunteers a chance to become a part of history,” explained Lois Krause, Executive Director of Volunteer Services at the North Bay General Hospital.

Volunteers are valued members of the hospital team. Please join us on Saturday, October 30th and find out how you can make a difference.

Volunteer, your day, your time, your choice.
