Traffic stop results in arrests

On Sunday October 10, 2010 at 2:10am police stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was travelling at 143 kilometres per hour in a 90 kilometre zone on highway 11, Strong Township.

The driver, Justin WISZIOSKI (30) of Ajax, Ontario was driving South on Highway 11 with a passenger who he picked up hitch hiking in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Police discovered that there was a federal warrant for WISZIOSKI and arrested him.

The passenger, David Hamilton (21) of Thunder Bay, Ontario was found with marihuana on his shirt. Hamilton told police that he got scared when police pulled them over so he tried eating the marihuana that he had in an attempt to hide it from police.

WISZIOSKI was returned to prison on the warrant and was also charged with speeding by 50 or more kilometres per hour, fail to identify self, drive motor vehicle no licence, fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle and fail to surrender licence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. WISZIOSKI was also charged with failing to have insurance card contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act of Ontario.
