Northgate officially launches walking club

The Northgate administration team officially kicked off their 'Strollers in the Mall' walking club on Saturday.

With over 6-million people through their doors on a yearly basis, and also successful walking programs established at other Morguard properties, the North Bay team felt they had a responsibility to help encourage healthy active living in the communtiy.

“The reason we decided to initiate it of course was to promote, encourage fitness and well-being in our community,” explains Marketing Director Sylvie Lord.

“We were aware that there were already a group walking the mall in the morning and we thought okay you know what we need to grow that, we need to reward people for their fitness achievements as well, and encourage the community.”



Mayor Vic Fedeli agrees that the walking group supports the importance of creating and keeping the community healthy and active.



Prizes will be awarded to folks reaching a milestone 500 kilometer mark over the course of the year. Folks can register at the Northgate Customer Care Center.
