News Release

The Al McDonald campaign took its first big hit in the mayoral race on Thursday, September 23, 2010. At approximately 5 pm a car accidentally drove through the front windows of the Al McDonald campaign office on Fisher Street next to Howe’s Lighting and Fan Company.

“I’m very glad no on was injured.” said McDonald. “The individual who drove through the window feels terrible about it.”

There have been reports of vandalism to campaign signs around the city and it was originally reported that the incident at the McDonald campaign office might have been the work of vandals too.

McDonald said, “Accidents happen and this was unintentional. We will resume campaign activities from this location just as soon as we can. But for the near future the office will be closed.”

In the mean time, Mr. McDonald’s campaign can be reached by calling 478-8598 or by visiting his website at almcdonald.ca.

“I hope everyone will bear with us as we get this taken care of.” McDonald said. “It’s all part of the fun and uncertainty of running a campaign.”

The McDonald campaign will host an open house once repairs have been made.
