French film festival is underway

The Centre culturel Les Compagnons des francs loisirs, in partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival Group and Film Circuit, is happy to announce that the Festival is now underway.

The festival will be held from September 21 to 26 at Galaxy Cinemas in North Bay and will be screening films including: Piché : entre ciel et terre, Cabotins, Y'en aura pas de facile, Filière 13 and Un prophète. The films Jasper, pingouin explorateur, Noémie : le secret et Le Journal d'Aurélie Laflamme will be presented from September 21 to 24 to students from the entire Nipissing area from Mattawa to West Nipissing as part of the festival's school program.

The opening night gala will be held on Thursday, September 23 and will be presenting the film Le Baiser du barbu at 7 pm to be followed by a wine and cheese social at Galaxy Cinemas. The festival's organizing committee invites the entire Francophone and Francophile community to celebrate this unique event at the opening night gala.

Tickets are on sale for $8 each at the Centre culturel Les Compagnons des francs loisirs of North Bay located at 327 Dudley Street and at the various Caisse populaire branches in Bonfield, Field, Mattawa, North Bay, Sturgeon Falls and Verner.
