Volunteers who care about the health and beauty of Parks Creek are invited to take part in a shoreline clean up September 22, 2010 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm, organized by the North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority.

Families, community groups, businesses and youth can meet at Eva Wardlaw Park on Lakeshore Dr. You’ll be provided with all the supplies needed to clean the Parks Creek shoreline from Lakeshore Drive to Marshall Park Drive. The volunteer workday coincides with the TD Canada Trust Great Canadian Shoreline Clean-Up, one of Canada's largest environmental events and one of the biggest shoreline clean-ups in the world.

Students interested in accumulating a few more hours towards their community service hours required for high school, are encouraged to participate in this event.

All equipment needed such as gloves, and garbage bags will be provided, as well as snacks and refreshments. More information is available by contacting Paula Loranger at (705) 474-5420.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority (NBMCA) was founded in 1972 by the Province of Ontario and the NBMCA’s 10 member municipalities. A non-profit organization, the NBMCA works closely with the public to help balance human needs with environmental needs in our watershed. The NBMCA is one of 36 Conservation Authorities who are members of Conservation Ontario.
