Candidate Valerie Chadbourne kicked off her campaign run for the office of the mayor Monday morning with, nieghbour of 17 years, Ellen Faulkner (l).

Ellen generously donated items for the Food Bank donation bin that Valerie has set up at 571 Hardy St.

"Volunteerism is the backbone of any community. It is an honour and a pleasure to have the opportunity to open my campaign with Ellen, a North Bay citizens who works diligently volunteering in our city."

Chadbourne says, "I am campaigning for the people of North Bay, to be their voice, to give them the civic direction they need to be successful in the changing world economy."

"I have a strong mandate and I promise to create sustainable jobs through innovation, to help protect our natural biodiversity and to build on our infrastructure needs for the future."
