Martin Fraser, CEO of BioSila Corporation and shareholders of BioSila Mattawa Inc. Announced today the takeover of the mill site property. After several months of negotiations and review by the Mattawa-Bonfield (MBEDC) economic development corporation, a decision was reached to sell the property to BioSila Mattawa Inc.

The purchase was done in concert with the full support of the Mattawa-North Bay Algonquin First Nation and the Antoine first nation. Both are active shareholders in the BioSila Mattawa Inc.

The Mattawa site will be home to a ‘BioSila Complex’, an advanced process that will create electrical power using a clean carbon free process. The complex will also manufacture bio-mass feed stock for use in the complex power generator as well as domestic and international markets.

‘this integrated system will be the first in North America using this type of technology,” said Martin Fraser, “We already have export orders that commence in 2011 and run for a number of years!”

“We are currently in discussions with other strategic ‘green’ operations that will operate in tandem with BioSila on the site,” Indicates John Mumlek, Chairman of BioSila Corporation. “Our partners, Mattawa Algonquin and Antoine First Nations are critical to our success. The mayors, representing MBEDC, wanted to be sure that the project benefits the entire region. We feel that everyone is working together here”

“as partners, we will profit far more than the ‘cash rewards,’” noted Chief Clifford Bastien “This means skills, training and sustainable employment for our people. Not just for today but for generations to come.”

Chief Davie Joanisse, representing the Antoine First Nation said, “We look forward to a cooperative and prosperous relationship with BioSila”.

Mayor Bob Corriveau, chairman of the Mattawa-Bonfield Economic Development Corporation (MBEDC), indicates that the decision to go forward with the sale of the former Tembec site to BioSila Mattawa Inc. Will create a centre for technology development in Northern Ontario. This will create stable, sustainable employment for local residents, as well as careers for our younger generation.

A full media and government presentation is being scheduled for the end of September where BioSila Mattawa Inc. will outline the future for the site and the positive impact on the local communities.
