Strong Twp man charged with theft of motor vehicle

On the 17th day of August 2010 The Almaguin Highlands OPP Detachment responded to a report of a pickup truck belonging to Sturgeon Falls Brush Cutting Ltd had been stolen from a construction site north of South River.
Investigation revealed that at approximately 1:30PM this date an unk male had stolen a 2000 GMC Sierra truck from the site.

While still in the area of South River at approximately 3:20PM the vehicle in question was observed south bound on Hwy 11 by the vehicles owner who in turn notified police. Police located the vehicle Hwy 11 just south of South River where the vehicle was stopped and the driver arrested.

Charged is Billy-Joe McCabe 21/Sept/1964 of Strong Twp with Theft of Motor Vehicle under $5000 Sec 334(b) of the Criminal Code, Breach of Probation X 2 Contrary to Sec 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code, and Drive motor Vehicle while licence suspended Contrary to sec 53 of the Highway Traffic Act.

McCabe was remanded into custody and we attend a bail hearing on the 20th of August to answer to the charges.
