Overnight on the 22nd July, 2010, a report was received by the North Bay Police, CST P. Kerr, regarding the theft of medication. The Complainant had hosted a small party involving several unknown persons. The next morning the complainant discovered that her heart medication; DILTIAZEM 30-mg had been stolen.

A pharmacist caution on this medication, taken in prescribed dosage, indicates it would likely result in dizziness and very light-headedness. Some other common side-effects with this medication include headache, muscle weakness and bronchitis.

In higher doses side effects could include irregular heart beat (slow of fast), low blood pressure, convulsions and coma.

Anyone coming into contact with medication not prescribed to them should not ingest any of it. This medication can be turned over to any local pharmacy for disposal, or to the North Bay Police Service.
