Temiskaming OPP investigating helicopter crash near Elk Lake

Elk Lake - Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are presently at the scene of a helicopter crash between Elk Lake and Gowganda that occurred at approximately 1:58 p.m. on the 23 July 2010.

The Temiskaming OPP where contacted shortly after 2:00 p.m. and arrived at the crash seen at approximately 2:50 p.m. Access to the crash area is being gained off Road House Tower. There has been two deaths confirmed in the crash and the names are being with held at this time until the next of kin have been notified. Transportation Safety Board of Canada has been notified and investigators are on route.
