Easter Seals is pleased to join The Bargain Shop in honouring their Sturgeon Falls store with a Silver Egg Award at 210 Front Street, today at 3:00 pm. The award is only given to 16 stores throughout Canada and is a direct reflection of the funds raised for the annual Paper Egg Campaign for Easter Seals Kids. This year’s campaign ran from Friday March 8 to Sunday April 4 at all Bargain Shops countrywide, with an in-store coin box campaign that ended on Monday May 3, 2010.
The Bargain Shop is Easter Seals’ Top National Paper Egg Sponsor. The Sturgeon Falls store is the second-highest seller of Paper Eggs in its district, raising $1,423.06 for Easter Seals’ programs and services.
“This year’s campaign is an incredible testimonial to what our customers, associates and partners can accomplish together”, says Tracey Herrington, Paper Egg Campaign Manager for The Bargain Shop. “These funds are so vital to providing the programs, services and equipment for kids and youth with disabilities to lead independent and productive lives.”
Easter Seals Ontario was founded in 1922 with a vision to create a better life for children and youth with physical disabilities. Since then, Easter Seals has been providing financial assistance for essential mobility equipment and communication devices, such as walkers, wheelchairs, porch lifts and ramps to families who require additional help and support in raising a child with a physical disability. Easter Seals also owns and operates two fully accessible summer camps and provides funding for children and youth with physical disabilities to attend other recreational programs.
