“The things taught in schools and colleges are not an education, but the means of education,” Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Emotions have been running high all week for senior high school students in the area as they get set to mark one of life's milestones -- their high school graduation. As the students get ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives they could be found in the school halls, on their cell phones and Facebook reminiscing about all the antics they enjoyed over the past four years. Their parents of course are full of pride over their child's achievement. Enjoy the moment folks you've earned it!

A number of graduation ceremonies were held on Thursday, they include St. Joseph/Scollard Hall at Capitol Centre Thursday afternoon, Widdifield at Capitol Centre Thursday evening, École secondaire catholique Algonquin at the school, West Ferris at the school, Northern at the school and Almaguin Highlands at the school.

Chippewa will hold their graduation ceremonies today (Friday) at the school on Chippewa Street.

BayToday congratulates all of this year's graduates and extends best wishes as you start the next phase of your lives.
