It's the Steve Omischl Sportplex

It's official the city's new sports complex will be named after North Bay native and World Cup champion Steve Omischl. An official ceremony will take place at 10:45am tomorrow (Tuesday) at the site of the Sport Complex, 1105 Lakeshore Drive.

It's official the city's new sports complex will be named after North Bay native and World Cup champion Steve Omischl.

An official ceremony will take place at 10:45am tomorrow (Tuesday) at the site of the Sport Complex, 1105 Lakeshore Drive.

“Well deserved honour to an individual who will inspire generations to dream big, work hard, persevere and always strive to be the best you can be,” states Councillor Chris Mayne who championed the effort to have something named for the world class athlete.

“We are all tremendously proud of you Steve.”
