Search warrant leads to drug charges

On June 10th, 2010, members of the Ontario Provincial Police, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit, North Bay, assisted by members of the OPP Almaguin Highlands Detachment executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a Joly Township residence.

As a result of the investigation, a quantity of oxycodone with a potential street value of over $1000.00 was seized along with $780.00 cash. Two (2) persons have been arrested and charged.

Charged and released via Promise to Appear:

1.Ashley Rae DURANT, age 22yrs, of Joly Township.

Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – (Oxycodone).
Breach Probation Order contrary to section 733.1 of the Criminal Code.

2.Micheal Lester SYKES , age 23yrs, of Joly Township.

Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act – (Oxycodone).
Breach Probation Order contrary to section 733.1 of the Criminal Code.
