The Ontario Early Years Centre – Nipissing (OEYC) along with community partners The North Bay Fire & Emergency Services and North Bay Police Services hosted their 9th annual Safety Day on Friday.

Area children learned the importance of safety at home through interactive play that included a Playground Scavenger Hunt, Safety Bingo, tours of safety vehicles.

Areas covered were Bus Safety, Sun Safety, Playground Safety, Pedestrian Safety, Bike/Helmet Safety, Child Restraint Safety and Water Safety.

OEYC spokesperson Kathy Broydell-Chippa says the earlier children learn about being safe the better.
