Markstay Warren – At 7:00 am on Saturday, June 05th, 2010 members of the Noelville and Warren OPP Detachments responded to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 approximately four kilometres West of Highway 535 in Hagar.
The collision involved a delivery truck and a compact car. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the truck was transported to the Sudbury General Hospital with minor injuries. A passenger in the car sustained no injuries.
The Ontario Provincial Police and Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are continuing their investigation. No names are being released at this time, pending notification of family members.
Traffic on Highway 17 was reduced to one lane for most of the morning. Both lanes of traffic were back to normal at 1:15 pm. This collision is being investigated by P.C. Christopher Bennison of the Noelville Detachment.
