Three Injured in ATV Collision

Chisholm Township – Powassan OPP, OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, Chisholm Fire Department as well as two Ambulances responded to a serious All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) collision on Sunday, May 23, 2010 shortly before 6 p.m. on Beach Road in Chisholm Township.

All occupants suffered injuries and were transported to the North Bay General Hospital. Driver, Roland GAUTHIER, 63 years old, of North Bay was later airlifted to St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto suffering of serious non-life threatening injuries. Two passengers, 13 years old girls, were released from hospital after being treated for cuts and bruises.

As a result of the investigation, all three occupants were charged under the Off-Road Vehicle Act for failing to wear a helmet and an additional charge of ‘Too many people on an ATV’ for the driver.
