Jorrie Cull of Parry Sound was an excellent representative of our region with his Intermediate project “Jorrie and the Beanstalk and Aloe Vera” as was Joe Sexton of West Ferris with his Intermediate project “Exercising Your Mind”.

The Canada-Wide Science Fair is the largest extra-curricular youth activity related to science and technology in Canada, bringing together our country’s best young minds. This year, 494 top young scientists are chosen to compete from approximately 25,000 competitors at over one hundred regional science and technology fairs held across the country. It was estimated that 500,000 students had participated in school fairs this year.
These elite participants compete in seven divisions and three age categories for medals and other prizes worth over $1M.

NBRSF Chair Mike Pearsall commented, “The CWSF is the Olympics of academics where students present the accomplishments of a fine tuned mind. North Bay students work very hard and have always excelled at the CWSF. We are very proud of their accomplishments and wish them every success in their future endeavours.”
