The Royal Canadian Naval Association, North Bay Branch and the City of North Bay will be celebrating 100 years of the Canadian Navy on June 04, 2010. This event will take place in front of the North Bay City Hall commencing at 13:00.

Veterans, local dignitaries, Sea Cadets and the public are invited to observe the celebration of the Canadian Navy's 100th Birthday. The City is to be presented with a Namesake Community Program framed memento of HMCS North Bay by a member of the Canadian Navy. Mayor Victor Fedeli and the City will be presented with a large model of the Flower Class Corvette HMCS North Bay that saw service during the Battle of the Atlantic. (1943-1945)

The ship model will be on permanent display on a base constructed by the woodworking students of Widdifield Secondary School. The exhibit of the model, memento, picture of the ship's company, and White Ensign of the Royal Canadian Navy will be located on the second floor of City Hall

At the conclusion of the presentation, all are invited to help the Royal Canadian Naval Association celebrate the Canadian Navy's Birthday by joining them for Centennial cake.
