Three people face charges following search warrant execution

French River – On 12 May 2010, officers of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau Sudbury Drug Enforcement Unit with the assistance of the Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit, OPP K9, UCCM Anishnaabe Police, Wikwemikong Tribal Police, and Noëlville Detachment uniformed officers attended a residence on Highway 64 in the Municipality of French River (Alban) to execute a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant.

Officers seized 87 marihuana plants, a quantity of dried cannabis marihuana and cannabis resin, a large quantity prescription medication, as well as indoor grow equipment and firearms. The total value of the seized drugs and property exceeds $100,000.00.

As a result of the investigation, three people face charges under the CDSA and the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC). Danny Jacobson (48) and Kim Jacobson (46) of Alban are each charged with:

one count of Production of a Controlled Substance,
one count of Possession of Cannabis Marihuana for the Purpose of Trafficking, two counts of Possession of Unauthorized Firearm.

A third man from Alban will also face charges.
