Kiwanis Club of Nipissing helped North Bay Blooms with their first garbage pick up of the year along Chippewa Creek and the Kinsman Bikepath this Wednesday evening. About twenty Kiwanians, family, friends and even a few kids in the neighbourhood helped pick up litter along the bikepath area.

Club President Mike Burke was pleased to see so many people out to help with the clean up and surprised to see a shopping cart and two old tires added to the pile of debris.

Dennis Chippa attended on behalf of the AIDS Committee to share a safety briefing and good thing he did as discarded syringe was picked up from a grassy area beside the creek.

Next week's clean up takes place at Northgate Square at
Laurentian Avenue and will be replacing the snowed out Tim Horton's Community Clean Up Day from this past Saturday. Friends and volunteers are always welcome, please see northbayblooms.com for details
