Widdifield Secondary School (WSS) captured first place at the 5th Annual Mathematics competition sponsored by Nipissing University. Widdifield has captured first place for the past three years as the districts top team at this competition which has Gr. 11 &12 students competing in math problem solving activities from secondary schools across the district. The school was presented with a $150 Tim Hortons gift card and a $500 Scholarship to be presented at graduation to a deserving student attending Nipissing University with a major in Math or Science.

WSS also achieved huge success at the recent University of Waterloo Math Competitions. Widdifield placed first in our zone in the Cayley contest, second in our zone in the Fermat contest and third in our zone in the Pascal contest. Our zone includes the New Liskeard & Huntsville area.
