In an effort to engage the public and create subject matter for blog topics surrounding the benefits of managing risk through proper insurance coverage, Knox Insurance Brokers is proud to announce the Accidents Waiting to Happen contest.

This fun new contest allows participants to submit a funny photo or video of a potentially accident-prone situation for a chance to win a grand prize of a $500 Travelocity gift card. Contestants may use a photo or video that they’ve taken themselves, or use found content from the web. “There are so many funny visual examples of less-than-desirable things happening in daily life, we don’t always realize the potential ramification and how insurance responds” says Randy Bushey, General Manager of Knox Insurance. “We want to take this opportunity to engage the social media community to promote the importance of risk management within a fun and appealing platform.”

The winning entry is decided through public votes generated by the amount of Google Buzzes, Facebook Shares, Tweets, shares through email and shares through Share This. The entry with the highest number of shares at the end of the contest on July 1, 2010 will win the grand prize. Early bird prizes of $50 will also be awarded on May 13, May 27, June 10 and June 24.

To participate in the contest, entrants can go to the new blog at http://theriskfactor.ca and submit their entry using an online submission form. Once the entry is received through website, it will be posted to the blog along with comments and insight as they relate to risk management.
