North Bay man charged with impaired driving

On May 1, 2010 at approximately 2:50 a.m., North Bay OPP officers were conducting a separate investigation in the area of Highway 11N, when a motor vehicle turning onto Roy Drive caught their attention.

Driver, Matthew D. POETA, 22 years old, of North Bay was charged and held for bail hearing for the following:

Impaired Operation, s. 253(1)(a) CC;
Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content, s.253(1)(b) CC; and Two counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance, s.145 (3) CC.

A passenger who was being verbally abusive and confrontational was also arrested and lodged at the North Bay OPP detachment for ‘Being intoxicated in public place as per s. 31(4)
