During an extraordinary meeting on Monday, April 26th, CSPNE Board Members approved the establishment of an Alternative Learning Centre in Downtown North Bay for the 2010-11 school year.

This Alternative Learning Centre will be located at 310 Algonquin Avenue and will meet the existing needs of the North Bay region. It will serve all Francophone students who wish to complete their High School Diploma in a non-traditional learning environment.

The Centre will offer a warm and welcoming setting as well as a wide range of part-time and full-time programs that will promote the personal success and fulfillment of every student. The curriculum will be based on the special needs of individual students.

The opening of the Alternative Learning Centre means that personalized secondary school education is now possible in the North Bay region. Starting in September 2010, approximately twenty students will be able to register. In fact, students will be able to register at any time during the school year.

Because the new Center will be located in the CSPNE's current head office building, board members also decided to move the head office to a vacant building already owned by the Board. The new head office will be located at 820, Lakeshore Drive in North Bay.
