Local dance group bedazzles at competition

This past weekend March 27th - 28th, 2010, Renees Competitive Dance Team attended their first of four competitions and came home huge winners.

The Mini, Junior, Intermediate & Senior Groups competed with a total of 42 dances consisting of solo’s, duets, trios and groups throughout the two days. The group came home with 34 first place finishes, 6 2nd place finishes and two 3rd place finishes.

Just a few special acknowledgements also need to be mentioned.

In the Overall Category the following came out on top

Solo:

Sarah Jodouin came 5th Overall

Emma Smith – 3rd Overall

Katie Forth – 2nd Overall

Emily Forth – 2nd Overall

Madison Tranter – 6th Overall

Jordan Stewart – 3rd Overall

Jayden Tranter – 2nd Overall

Emily Jodouin – 1st Overall

Hannah McCallum – 1st Overall for her Hip Hop age group

Groups/Duet/Trios

Senior Group received a 3rd and 2nd Overall

Intermediate Group received a two 2nd and one 3rd Overall

Junior Group received a 1st and 3rd placing Overall

Mini Group received a 2nd Overall

Production Number which consisted of all the groups received a 1st Overall

Special Awards

Adjudicators Special Awards 11 awards were given out to Renee’s Competitive Team in either a solo, duet/trio or group number.

Katie Forth received a dance scholarship to the Step Up 2 The Next Level and Catalyst Bootcamp.

Renees Competitive Team won an In House Workshop.

Choregraphy Award went out to the Junior Hip Hop Group JZ Represents, and the Intermediate’s Lyrical Group Knockin On Heaven’s Door

Entertainment Award went out to the Junior Groups Musical Theatre number Hair
