Actor John Forsythe, the velvet voice of mysterious millionaire and ex police detective Charles Townsend in Charlie's Angels, has died.
Actor John Forsythe, the velvet voice of mysterious millionaire and ex police detective Charles Townsend in Charlie's Angels, has died.

The actor's publicist Harlan Boll said Forsythe died late Thursday at his home in Santa Ynez from complications from pneumonia. He had been battling cancer for the past year.

Forsythe, who had a distinguished career in theater and films, was best known for his role as the scheming oil tycoon Blake Carrington on Dynasty from 1981 to 1989.

He was 92.
