The Near North Student Robotics Initiative, Team 1305, Ice Cubed, competed at the FIRST Robotics Competition Waterloo Regional at the University of Waterloo this weekend.

The team brought their newest robot, Divinitus, to compete in the game of Breakaway. The robot seeded fourth overall with no major mechanical issues and went all the way to the finals, only losing after two close and well played matches. The team then went on to win the Engineering Inspiration Award, which "Celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s school and community." This award qualifies them to compete at the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Atlanta Georgia, April 15-17. The team also competes at the Greater Toronto Regional this weekend. The team appreciates the support of all of it's sponsors and partners who allow them to achieve their goals.

The Near North Student Robotics Initiative is a High School Robotics Team comprised of students from seven schools. The team competes with FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), which is dedicated to promoting opportunities in science, technology, and engineering among youth.
