A number of people charged in ice shack damage cases

On February 15, 2010, OPP received a report of a break, enter and theft to an ice shack where a homemade woodstove had been removed. A 17 year old male and a 25 year old male both of North Bay have been charged with Break, Enter as per s. 348(1) of the Criminal Code.

On February 20, 2010, a total of seven ice shacks were vandalized and deliberately set on fire on Lake Nipissing near the government dock area. Investigation into this incident resulted in charges to four individuals.

Two 15 year old males from North Bay are charged with:
7 counts each of Break, Enter as per s. 348(1) of the Criminal Code;
7 counts each of Theft Under, as per s. 334(b) CC; and
2 counts of Arson – Damage to property as per s. 434 of the CC

A 21 year old male of North Bay is charged with:
Break, Enter as per s. 348(1) (a) CC and;
Theft under as per s. 334(b) CC

Also facing charges is a 16 year old male also of North Bay.

The investigation remains ongoing.
