The North Bay Labour-Management Committe is proud to host the 2nd Construction Health & Safety Conference on March 24th 2010 at the Best Western Hotel in North Bay.
Keynote Speakers are Candys Ballanger-Michaud, President, CEO of the newly formed safety association Workplace Safety North. Workplace Safety North is the new safe work association amalgamating the Mines and Aggregates Safety and Health Association, the Ontario Forestry Safe Workplace Association and the Pulp and Paper & Paper Health and Safety Association. Workplace Safety North has been in operation since the beginning of 2010.
The second keynote speaker is Tim Sloggett. Tim will be giving a worker testimonial of his workplace accident. Tim was injured when a tree fell on him while working. He suffered a complete T-7 spinal cord injury resulting in no movement or sensation from his chest down.
The event has many break-out sessions throughout the day. This event is free of charge thanks in part to corporate sponsorships.
