$80,000 in drugs seized during traffic stop

At approximately 2:20 p.m. on March 13, 2010, an OPP officer stopped a motor vehicle travelling westbound on Highway 17 in Papineau-Cameron Township. This traffic stop resulted in several drug related charges for the driver as suspected amphetamines, cocaine and cannabis marijuana with a combined street value of over $80,000 was seized.

Bradley M. LACROIX, 25 years old, of Saint-Lazare, Quebec was charged with:
CDSA 4(1) Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana - over 30 grams;
CDSA 4(1) Possession Schedule I – Cocaine;
CDSA 4(1) Possession Schedule I - Other Drugs;
CDSA 5(2) Possession for the Purpose Schedule I - Other Drugs;
CDSA 5(2) Possession for the Purpose Schedule I – Cocaine; and
CDSA 5(1) Trafficking Schedule II - Cannabis Marihuana under 3 kilograms

LACROIX is scheduled to appear for court in North Bay on May 25, 2010.

On March 14, 2010 at approximately 1:30 a.m., OPP officer stopped a motor vehicle on Maple Road in Bonfield Township. The driver, Roger SAVAGE, 40 years old of Bonfield, was charged with Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana - under 30grams as per s. 4(1) CDSA and with Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content as per s. 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

SAVAGE is scheduled to appear for court in North Bay on April 13, 2010.
