Hockey fan charged with assault with a weapon

On the 27th of Feb. shortly after midnight it is alleged that a male and female were watching a hockey game on television within a North Bay home. The female wished the sound turned down but the male refused. When the female lowered the sound herself, she was attacked with a pair of scissors and threatened with death.

Shortly after the victim managed to contact the North Bay Police and later that day Csts. Bruce Whitehead and Dan Weber of our Service arrested a male suspect in relation to the allegations.

Kelly STEPHENS 47 years old of Highway 11 North is charged with Assault With a Weapon, Threatening Death and 2 Counts of Breach of Probation. He remains in custody for a bail hearing.
