North Bay OPP officers responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 on Highway 63, east of the city.

Shortly before 6 a.m., a van was travelling towards Temiscaming when it collided with a tractor trailer travelling towards the city of North Bay. The driver of the tractor trailer suffered no injuries. The driver of the van required extrication from his vehicle by the North Bay Fire Department. He was later transported to the North Bay General Hospital by the North Bay Ambulance suffering serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A detour was set up at Lees Road and Four Mile Lake Road while the highway was closed for approximately two hours.

The North Bay OPP advise that as of 6:30 am Hwy 63 at Anita Ave. is closed due to a motor vehicle collision.

A detour is set up at Lees Road and 4 Mile Lake Road. The estimated duration of traffic interruption is unkown.
