Allergy Alert: undeclared wheat in Chef Robert Brand product

OTTAWA - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Private Stock Sauce Company are warning people with allergies to wheat not to consume Private Stock Chef Robert brand Honey Ginger Teriyaki described below. The affected product contains wheat which is not declared on the label.

The affected product, Private Stock Chef Robert brand Honey Ginger Teriyaki, is sold in a 355 mL container bearing UPC 8 33537 50017 6. All codes are affected by this alert. This product has been distributed in Ontario.

Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to wheat.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

The manufacturer, Private Stock Sauce Company, Markham, ON, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
